Hey, folks…yup, it’s me.  Kimberlie.  Ok, now CALL ME CRAZY…but I’m ready to do something unconventional…yet again!  I want to see how much $$  MOOLAH $$  I can raise for LIVESTRONG™ in one 24-hour period!  I am a returning Grassroots Fundraiser for LIVESTRONG™ and have set a lofty goal of engaging your support to raise $5,000 this year to help the Lance Armstrong Foundation.

But today I got to thinking…WHAT IF I COULD DO THIS IN ONE DAY!!!???

Kimberlie Dykeman has been asked by the president of the Taylor Public Library to join the 3rd Annual Library Board Gala as a featured guest author. Dykeman will help toast the festive occasion withBook-sample-3-cover-final one of her signature SOAPBOX® motivational vignettes to drive home this year’s “Travel the World with Books” theme for the black tie affair.

Since the grand opening of this new facility in 2007, the gala has been so successful the last two years that current president, Barbara Leschber’s board elected to continue the annual event. Proceeds this year will be used to “fill the shelves” with new books. Local authors and artists will have their latest works on display and featured for purchase and signing.

Kimberlie Dykeman Takes a Bite out of NYC

From the minute she landed in New York, Kimberlie Dykeman took in fabulous new experiences every chance she could!  It began with a trip to the General Motors Building to join the crowds at a taping of CBS’s The Early Show…  Dykeman not only shook hands of the fabulously friendly anchors, she also garnered some serious camera-time for the cover of her book, Pure Soapbox, and  handed off a copy to the producer.  Just in case they needed a great guest to motivate their viewers in the New Year!

Dykeman stayed at the swanky SoHo Grande Hotel, dined at Lure and  Megu and took in the amazing contemporary West-Side Story-esque musical, In the Heights, at the Richard Rogers Theater.    A junket into Greenwich Village was distracted by the annual SantaCon celebration, where Dykeman asked not ONE but TWO Santas for a few Christmas gifts!   IMG_0283  IMG_0278

Kimberlie Dykeman Interviews Sir Elton, Andy Roddick and John Legend at Gala

The evening of Andy Roddick’s 4th Annual Fundraiser Gala was indeed wonderfully festive, fun, and filled with folks jazzed to drop some serious cash on auction items, for the benefit of four Austin-based children charities.  Kimberlie Dykeman was honored with the opportunity to host the only interview of Sir Elton John before he hit the performance stage to prove, yet again, that there is only one ROCKET MAN! 

 

Side-by-side on the red carpet with other Austin media, Dykeman also had camera conversation with the host himself, Andy Roddick; his wife Brooklyn Decker, crooner John Legend, and Colorado Rockies’ Huston Street.
