Mashable’s US Summer Tour touched down in A-town last night and packed every inch of Buffalo Billiards with hundreds of folks, fool-drunk on the joy of multi-city networking and an open bar!  And Dykeman was right in the mix of it all…garnering photo opps with Mashable’s founder Pete Cashmore and chatting about future opportunities, with both the Mashable team and TechZulu, to extend viral video coverage of the events and movers-and-shakers in Austin’s tech arena.

Aaron Novak of Stickam also scooped up Dykeman for a live streaming interview, highlighting the integration between the media and entertainment world and Web 2.0 advancements.  Hmmm…is The SOAPBOX Queen becoming Austin’s emerging tech socialite?  Stay tuned…  Photos and videos can be viewed on www.mashable.com and www.stickam.com

Giant Noise PR engaged Kimberlie Dykeman to emcee Austin Monthly Magazine’s launch party for the annual Most Eligible Bachelor Issue. Dykeman will announce and present each fabulous bachelor to the attending crowd…of awaiting bachelorettes, no doubt!

At a private meet-n-greet party last week, Dykeman hosted intimate on-camera interviews of each bachelor, including Coverboy Brad Womack, of ABC’s The Bachelor fame, gathering the inside scoop for the magazine’s promotional video campaign.

“Being a thousand percent single myself,” says Dykeman, “they really had to twist my arm to sit side-by-side and chat with some of Austin’s best looking, sharpest men in Austin!”

book coverThe PURE SOAPBOX  book release and signing party at Austin’s BookPeople was absolutely fabulous…flawless!  Standing room only!  Kimberlie Dykeman coordinated a truly refreshing spin on the “average” book release.  Friends, family and countless new faces from the Austin and surrounding areas crowded the event, enjoying champagne from Taste, sushi from Zen, “Sweeto’s” from Sweet Leaf Tea and Tito’s Vodka, and dessert from Amy’s Ice Cream.  Orders have begun pouring in to Dalton Publishing  as well as emails recounting the touching message and genuine entertainment of the whole evening….proving that, for the budding entrepreneur and lost empty-nester, the burned-out parent and newly-single divorcee…this book has got something in that hits home and inspires change.

“I am so jazzed to witness this excitement and enlightenment in people, says Dykeman.  “And to do it through the written word and simply standing on my little soapbox, is proof that the old fashioned way still works!”

Thank you also the BookPeople staff, the Lance Armstrong Foundation, REI, Backwoods, Waterloo Records, Avant Salon, Big Top Candy Shop, Tribeza, Austin Woman Magazine, Huey Houston and Game Plan Marketing.

Dalton Publishing inked a national deal with Midpoint Trade Books, a national book distributor in New York. Dalton founder Deltina Hay says the Austin-based publishing company’s strong presence at this year’s world-renowned BEA Book Conference in L.A. earned the nod of one of New York’s hardest working distributors.  For over a dozen years, Midpoint has focused its talent and energy on helping independent publishers build successful publishing programs in the trade marketplace.

What does this mean for Kimberlie Dykeman and Pure Soapbox, the first title launched under Dalton’s new imprint, Wiggy Press?  A vastly-reputable source will now pitch and supply Pure Soapbox to the national chain bookstores and beyond, as well as provide much more exposure to the overall national publishing world market, including schools and libraries.  This, combined with the efforts of KD herself, the publisher, and soon-to-be signed publicity firm, will be the powerful push essential to garner national recognition across broad consumer demographics.

PURE SOAPBOX  launches 6.25.08.  Available where books are sold!

ShelfLifeTV logo   In preparation of launching an online channel, entitled ShelfLife.tv, Kimberlie Dykeman and Phenix & Phenix’s literary publicist team approved the video uploads of its first guests authors. AMS Production Group crafted its final edits allowing the viral distribution campaign to begin on YouTube. Book and author introductions are presented by the writers themselves, in addition to the one-on-one intimate interviews with Dykeman as both Host and Executive Producer.  The Shelf Life show concept of author-specific video presentations and marketing via Web2.0 and its social platforms was the main chatter at this year’s BEA Convention, the largest book conference in North America….and is exactly what the publishing world has needed.

Dykeman heads back into the AMS studios on July 23, 2008 for the second shoot of interviews.  Indeed, the team of Dykeman and Phenix & Phenix Literary Publicists is definitely making a name for itself…and its published talent!

I just signed on as a new Grassroots Fundraiser for the Lance Armstrong Foundation, choosing LIVESTRONG™ to be the sole beneficiary of a portion of the proceeds from all book sales of Pure Soapbox.  Having been both intimately affected by cancer and seen friends also go through the trauma of this deadly disease, I view this as a one-of-a-kind opportunity to directly help this world-renowned charity and further inspire the global community to donate to the fight against cancer. Additionally, my websites, including PureSoapbox.comKimberlieDykeman.wordpress.com , will have a direct link to my own LIVESTRONG™ Fundraising URL so visitors can freely post their own donations online, both in honor and anonymously.

Well…here we go with another site and blog to maintain.  I feel like I have a litter of “little ones” that need my attention all the time… www.kimberliedykeman.com , www.PureSoapbox.com , then there’s all the networking sites.  But each has its own pulse, so-to-speak, and so is somewhat alive…as catalysts and receptors of idea, comments, conversations, tirades!  And how fabulous is that?!  So welcome, then, to the official launch of my personal blog, where I’ll scribble ditties of what’s going on in my life as a TV Host, Spokesperson and Producer and as a new author, of Pure Soapbox… And perhaps the next fab talk show host!  Hey, you never know!  After all…
